Matanzas Inlet

inshore · Jacksonville & beyond
One of the few naturally-open inlets left on the Florida east coast. Sandbars, jetty rocks, and tidal currents combine for excellent inshore action — flounder on the bottom in fall, redfish along the rocks, snook in the structure, occasional tarpon in summer. A1A bridge crosses here for shore access.
